Hajipur rape, murder: Court reserves verdict
Hyderabad: The fast track court at Nalgonda has reserved its judgment in the Hajipur triple rape and murder cases. After completion of the arguments of both prosecution and defence counsels on Friday, the court adjourned the hearing to January 27.
M. Srinivas Reddy, 28, a resident of Hajipur, was accused of killing three minor girls after raping them. He had buried the bodies of the girls in an abandoned well situated on his agricultural land on the outskirts of the village.
He was arrested on April 30, 2019, in connection with the rape and murder of the third girl. He then confessed to the rape and murder of two more girls.
In September 2019, charge sheets were filed in the three cases registered against Srinivas Reddy under the POCSO Act before the fast track court.
Srinivas Reddy who was brought to the court from Nalgonda district jail under high security was taken back to the prison to await the verdict. Srinivas Reddy raped and killed an 11-year-old girl in 2015, and in 2018, he kidnapped and raped a 14-year-old girl. In March 2019, he raped and killed an 18-year old girl.
