Kuvempu's poem will inspire me: Justice Dinesh Maheshwari
Bengaluru: Outgoing Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who has been elevated to the Supreme Court, has said the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu's ‘Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujathe…’, which is the state’s naada geethe will be his companion for the rest of his life.
Addressing the fellow members from bar and the bench of the state judiciary in his farewell speech on Thursday, he expressed his gratitude to the entire staff and subordinates members. The judge was in tears while thanking his family members, with whose support he was able to perform his duties and responsibilities.
He also thanked the people of Karnataka for their support during his eleven month tenure as the Chief Justice.
Meanwhile, Justice L. Narayanaswamy, who has been appointed as the acting chief justice, said the outgoing chief justice has been instrumental in bringing back the glory of Bengaluru as the Garden City by passing important orders pertaining to illegal hoarding, potholes, garbage and other pressing issues.
