Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao showers sops on Gajwel

Mr Rao inaugurated a 50-bed government hospital in Toopran and promised to construct a community hall.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday toured Toopran and his home constituency of Gajwel to launch development programmes.

Mr Rao inaugurated a 50-bed government hospital in Toopran and promised to construct a community hall at the mandal headquarters at a cost of '1 crore.

The Chief Minister also announced the sanctioning of Rs 5 crore for laying CC roads and setting up an underground drain-age system.

Mr Rao promised to take up beautification of Toopran tank, construct 500 2BHK houses for poor and sanction a government degree college.

The Chief Minister later proceeded to Gajwel where he examined work at the multi purpose auditorium, integrated collectorate complex, 100-bed hospital, MLA camp office building and education hub.

Mr Rao finalised the site for construction of Medak collectorate and police administrative office and asked officials to acquire 85 acres in Aurangabad in Medak town for the purpose.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and tourism minister A. Chandulal invited Mr Rao for the Medaram jatara.

The Chief Minister has also released posters and a CD on jatara at Pragathi Bhavan on the occasion. Mr Rao asked the ministers to take effective measures for the smooth conduct of the jatara.

Explaining further, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “This time, we have made arrangements on a permanent basis. The roads from Bhupalapally, Pasra and Tadvai to Medaram were upgraded as double-lane roads. Dress changing rooms and toilets have been constructed. A Haritha Hotel has been opened. We have set up a museum to showcase the jatara and the rich tribal culture.”
