GHMC demolishes hookah parlours in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The GHMC cracked down on unauthorised constructions carried out by hookah parlours in the Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills areas. Officials made surprise visits to these parlours and found deviations from the building permission granted. The managements of six parlours were found to have constructed illegal temporary and permanent structures.
The town planning wing demolished illegal constructions carried out by VUE Lounge, located on the terrace of Mansingh Square building, Road Number 12 of Banjara Hills. Unauth- were removed from the ‘Water’-hookah centre on Road #9 Banjara Hills, Earth Café lounge on Road #36 of Jubilee Hills, Moksha Hookah Centre on Road #1 Jubilee Hills and the hookah centre OCD on Road #3 Banjara Hills. The GHMC warned commercial establishments against illegal constructions.
The mobile courts set up by the GHMC booked 66 cases in Circle 3 (A) L.B. Nagar and Gaddiannaram. In two cases the mobile courts issued a warrant for neglecting the charge sheet issued by the corporation and for not paying fine. The total fine collected from 66 booked cases were '32,000 on a single day. Dumping garbage and urinating in public places will attract a fine under the norms laid down by GHMC.
The GHMC has set up mobile courts to deal with violations, particularly those pertaining to trade licences, littering or urinating in public places. Mobile courts will be set up across all the 30 circles of the corporation. They will function like mobile courts set up by APSRTC in undivided AP to punish travellers without tickets.
