1971 War: India remembers its martyrs on Vijay Diwas

A large number of veterans from all the three services attended the ceremony and paid their respects to all the martyrs.

Bengaluru: Vijay Diwas is celebrated on December 16 every year to commemorate the Indian victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. A wreath-laying ceremony was held on Monday in memory of Armed Forces personnel who laid down their lives for the country in the 1971 War, at the War Memorial, Headquarters Training Command, Indian Air Force, Bengaluru.

Air Marshal Arvindra Singh Butola, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Headquarters Training Command of the Air Force, laid a wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of all the personnel.

The General Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub-Area of Indian Army and Station Commander of Indian Naval Detachment also paid their tributes. A large number of veterans from all the three services attended the ceremony and paid their respects to all the martyrs.

The ceremony concluded after observing a two-minute silence.
