Telangana: Internet cut in areas hit by clashes

There was disruption of cellphone call services for some time in the Agency areas in old Adilabad district.

ADILABAD: Internet services were suspended here early on Saturday morning reportedly by the state government as a precautionary measure in the wake of clashes between Adivasis and Lambadas and to curb the rumours being spread on social networking. There was disruption of cellphone call services for some time in the Agency areas in old Adilabad district.     The government meanwhile deployed more police forces and the Rapid Action Force in the area following Friday’s clashes. Section 144 is being enforced the Utnoor area. 

Parents have started taking their children, studying in private residential schools to their homes, following the clashes and  Many tribal students are studying at the private residential schools under best available schools scheme with the help of ITDA, Utnoor.    Private schools have declared unofficial holidays to the students and managements have asked the parents to take their children home. The private and Zilla Parishad schools have remained closed with no teacher present. Tribal ashram schools functioned as usual in Utnoor division
