Hyderabad: People's Plaza, new address of LoveHyd'
Hyderabad: The popular typographical structure ‘LoveHyd’ has got a new address. The structure has been installed beside People’s Plaza —Necklace Road, opposite M.S. Maktha, which has been turned into an art district. The LoveHyd sculpture has been placed at a height with the Hussainsagar as the backdrop. The new site can accommodate many visitors — usually eager to take selfies — without hindering traffic and has a parking lot. A transparent case is likely to cover the structure.
It took 20 days to repair the highly defaced structure that was plucked out of Tank Bund in mid November. Mr Prshant Lahoti, founder of Kalakriti Art Gallery, said, “The structure was defaced, visitors had used nails to scribble on it, and shoe marks and stains have damaged it further. For the Independence Day this year it was painted in the Tricolour. However, now it is back to its original red-white combo.”He said it has now been placed in such a way that no one can climb onto it and yet it is accessible for a selfie. The Necklace Road Lake Protection Police have been directed to keep a strict vigil to stop visitors from defacing the structure. A street art walk was conducted on the same day which received overwhelming response from local people.
The state authorities and artist accompanied minister K.T. Rama Rao through the narrow lanes of Maktha which had been transformed into vibrant art district for two weeks by local and international artists. The walk concluded with a stencil spray by Mr Rama Rao titled ‘M.S. Maktha Art District’ which will be placed at the entrance of the public art district in the coming days.
