Ganta Srinivasa Rao invites Pharma firms to set up units in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao had invited pharma firms to set up companies in the Pharma City in Parawada area. He was inaugurating the 68th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) at Andhra University here on Friday. More than 8,000 pharmacy professionals, industry, academics, drug administrators, regulatory bodies, hospital and community pharmacists are taking part in the Congress.

The state government under the dynamic leadership of Chandrababu Naidu has created a friendly industrial environment within a very short period of formation of the new state. Mr Naidu is looking forward to meet and interact with about 150 CEOs of the different Pharma companies and experts for exploring the possibility of starting new industries in the state, the minister said and urged the pharma firms to take up a skill development programme in a big way for youths.

He gave away prizes to the winners of different awards, and to the best students of the degree and diploma in pharmacy across the country. He had special appreciation for the organisers for providing job opportunities for about 2,000 candidates by organising the placement conclave. IPCA general secretary Dr T.V. Naryana said the next IPC would be at Chittkara University, Punjab.

CM Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the scientific sessions on Saturday and is likely to address the conclave of Pharma industry CEOs. Chairman of scientific services committee Prof. K.P.R. Chowdary said 65 experts and eminent speakers from within India and abroad would attend the event and a total of 2,580 papers will be presented in both poster and oral sessions during the event.
