Srinagar: Two alleged Lashkar-e-Tayyaba associates arrested
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed arresting three persons who were allegedly issuing threats to local residents in the Valley’s north-western town of Sopore and separately two “terrorist associates” from neighbouring Kupwara district.
The three accused arrested in Sopore were identified as Hilal Ahmed and Sahil Nazir, both residents of Brath-Kalan locality of Sopore, and Peerzada Mohammad Zahir of nearby Check Brath.
“They were arrested and incriminating materials including threat posters were recovered from their possession,” the police said in a statement here.
It added that initial investigation into the matter reveals that these individuals were involved in publishing and circulation of threat posters of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) in Sopore area.
