Petition of Marri Shashidhar Reddy closed
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday closed a petition by Marri Shashidhar Reddy, senior Congress leader, seeking for rectification of defects and discrepancies in the electoral rolls such as duplicate votes, dual votes and deleted votes.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil .B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt while closing the plea reminded that they have been passed interim order to facilitate the petitioner and eligible voters to make complaints against any discrepancies in voter list before officers concerned.
A bench said that after the election notification was issued, all the matters regarding to voters list would be in control of Election Commission, and the election officers has to follow the prescribed rules and guidelines.
The bench told that petitioner or voters felt any violations in implementing the election process, they would have liberty to approach concerned authorities or the High Court.
Mr. Shashidhar Reddy questioned inaction of Election Commission for not taking any steps to fuzzy logic records and bulk voters in single door numbers and voters without door numbers and house numbers which runs without any symbols/special characters and ghost voters
