Hyderabad: The Agri Gold case took a new twist when counsel appearing for one Alluri Venkateswara Rao told the High Court that the property in Vijayawada, which is being claimed by the company, does not belong to it.
Mr Sridharan, the counsel, said that property belonged to Mr Venkateswara Rao, MD of Haailand Resorts. It was a separate entity, he said. At this, a bench comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice S.V. Bhatt pulled up the Agri Gold management and AP CID. The bench asked the company why it had estimated the cost of the property and made tall claims of fetching huge value when it did not belong to them.
