Dharna Chowk comes to life with Congress' Rafale protest
Hyderabad: The Mahakutami leaders lead by Congress senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao have staged a protest against Rafale deal at Dharna Chowk on Friday. This is the first protest staged at Dharna Chowk after the High Court lifted a one-and-a-half-year ban on protests at the venue.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Hanumantha Rao expressed his happiness over the lifting of protest ban at Dharna Chowk. He said, “Caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao hadbanned protests at Dharna Chowk, which was undemocratic. He had utilised the place throughout the Telangana movement. Worried about the prospect that the people and social activists would expose the failures of the government, KCR had banned protests here by misusing his powers.”
Hanumantha Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not opening his mouth on the Rafale deal, when Mr Rahul Gandhi questioned about the scam in Parliament.
