Marital discord: Newly-wed ends life in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: Upset over her husband suspecting her fidelity, a 25-year-old newly-wed woman committed suicide by hanging at her house in Subramanyanagar police station limits on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Padmini, a resident of Rajajinagar ‘D' Block. She got married to Chandrashekhar, who works in a private firm, about four months ago. According to the police, Padmini was reportedly speaking to someone over the phone on Wednesday evening and her husband picked up a quarrel with her over the issue. He allegedly suspected that she was having an affair and always spoke to him over phone. Upset over this, Padmini allegedly hung herself to the ceiling fan. “Her parents, who live in Chitradurga, have alleged that her husband doubted her and harassed her every day. They also claimed that she was talking to them over the phone, for which husband picked up a quarrel. They have registered a complaint accusing Chandrashekhar of harassing their daughter for dowry and other reasons,” the police said. Based on the complaint Chandrashekhar has been detained. The Subramanyanagar police have registered a case.
