Hyderabad: All the weapons brought into the country will be documented and audited. It is an official procedure and every security agency has to follow it.
“Customs duty is exempted for diplomatic consignments. The consignment is checked and documented. Not only weapons, other articles are also brought into the country for temporary period and taken back by the officials. We have received notifications from the concerned ministries,” said a customs official.
US Security Service agents carry short and medium weapons, including the advanced SIG Sauer P229 chambered in .357 SIG FN - Seven in FN 5.7 x 28mm and medium weapons like FN P 90 submachine gun, the 9mm Heckler and Koch MP5 submachine guns and 12 gauge Remington 870 shotguns.
A counter sniper team will also accompany the protection team and take over position at highrises, if needed.
The US Secret Service will be bringing in its own SUVs. Ms Trump will move in a vehicle brought by the US wing.
A communication teams will also be in the city to assist their personnel in providing and monitoring the security arrangements. Another advance party will sanitize the locations with the help of various high end equipment used in detecting landmines, it is learnt.
