Hyderabad: Public serving doctors seek freedom'
Hyderabad: Doctors who are still charging only Rs 200 to Rs 300 as fees from their patients have urged the government to keep them out of the purview of Clinical Establishment Act (CEA). These general physicians and nursing homes say that they are providing primary care to the people and the government must protect them.
Dr T Narasinga Reddy, president of the Indian Medical Association of Telangana said, “It is very important to get single-doctor clinics out of the purview of the Act. The government must also act against the incidence of violence against doctors and medical establishments. The Central government must bring an Act to protect the doctors.”
In Telangana the IMA Satyagraha was held in 43 places and the doctors marched towards the district offices of the health departments and gave their charter of six major demands.
