Hyderabad: 55-year-old man washes away in open drain

According to Sanathnagar Police, the deceased has been identified as Rajaiah, 55, a centring worker living at Rama Rao Nagar in Moosapet.

Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man was washed away in an open drain at Borabanda during heavy rains on Tuesday. The disaster response force and the emergency Monsoon teams of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation traced the body.

According to Sanathnagar Police, the deceased has been identified as Rajaiah, 55, a centring worker living at Rama Rao Nagar in Moosapet. On Tuesday evening during heavy rains, Rajaiah was walking home when he accidentally slipped and fell into the drain near Saibaba Temple in Borabanda.

The locals who noticed the incident immediately alerted the police. The disaster response force and emergency monsoon teams of GHMC swung into action and traced Rajaiah after 25 minutes. He was died by then, said the police. A case of suspicious death has been registered.
