Tamil Nadu transport department earns Rs 8 crore for special bus services

Also, the transport minister, M.R. Vijayabhaskar on Monday inspected the operations of the department.

Chennai: The transport department of Tamil Nadu has nearly collected a whopping 8 crore in the first week of special bus ticket reservations.

“From October 13-17, a total of 1,42,880 tickets have been booked, of which 81,730 are from Chennai, collecting a total of Rs 4.80 crore. As many as 81,363 return tickets have been booked throughout the State and 77,607 to Chennai, raking up the moolah to Rs 2.73 crore (totally Rs 7.53 crore),” according to the official press statement.

Also, the transport minister, M.R. Vijayabhaskar on Monday inspected the operations of the department.

This Deepavali season, the Tamil Nadu transport department operated a total of 4,820 special buses that departures from 5 temporary bus terminals including Anna Nagar West, Tambaram new bus terminus (MEPZ), Poonamallee, CMBT and Saidapet Court terminus.
