Hyderabad: Patients had tough time at hospitals
Hyderabad: A large police force was deployed at the Basavata-rakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and at Osmania General Hospital mortuary, when the body of former AP Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was brought there, troubled patients and their attendants.
As several political leaders and well-wishers of Rao thronged the hospital, police cordoned off the area and let in only a few VIPs and close family members into the medical intensive care unit at the hospital.
Despite the police presence, Rao’s supporters entered the hospital and raised slogans hailing the late leader just in front of the MICU. Medical staff had to intervene and calm the supporters. At the OGH mortuary, at least 50 policemen were deployed and the gates were closed. People who wanted to see or collect the bodies of their dear ones were stopped by the police.
