Family yet to recieve news
Hyderabad/Mancherial: A woman government teacher, who along with husband and son went to the tour to Papikondalu went missing when the boat they were travelling with 69 others capsized at Kachleru village in Devipatnam mandal of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
Ankem Bhavani, a teacher working in a Government school in the city was a resident of Ramanthapur. She along with her husband A Pavan Kumar, and son Susheel, and A Janakirama Rao and his wife A Siva Jyothi of Medipally went to the tour to AP.
After the mishap, Janakirama Rao was rescued by the locals, but his wife Jyothi drowned and died. Her body was recovered by the teams of National Disaster Response Force during the rescue operation on Sunday. However, the bodies of Pavan, Bhavani, and Susheel were not yet found.
Speaking to DC, M Rama, a cousin of Pavan, who was inconsolable, said: “The status of my family members is still unavailable since yesterday. Four of our relatives have been to the incident spot, but they have not received any information about the missing trio. We are still in the trauma.”
Medipally inspector, B Anji Reddy said: “Janakirama Rao’s wife Jyothi is declared dead. The whereabouts of his three relatives are still unknown. It is learned that Jyothi’s body may reach the city after any information the missing persons are found.”
1 Body recovered, 1 still missing
One person from Mancherial district has gone missing in Sunday’s boat accident in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, while the body of a man from Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district has been recovered.
They have been identified as Boddu Laxman of Pardanpalli village of Hajipur mandal and Karukuri Ramya of Karnamamidi of Mancherial district.
Ramya was working as an assistant engineer with the TS Transco in Kagaznagar in Kumarambheem Asifabad district while Laxman was an assistant in Bhainsa in Nirmal district. Laxman’s body was found while Ramya was still missing.
