Enact law against flex banners: Thirunavukkarasar

Referring to the common public examinations for class five and eight students, he said it will spoil the future of the students.

TIRUCHY: Senior Congress leader and Tiruchirappalli MP, Su.Thirunavukkarasar has urged the Tamil Nadu Government to enact a special law and to put an end to the 'flex-banner culture'.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, on the sidelines of opening the new MP's office, he informed that the Congress will hold public meetings across the state shortly to condemn the Union government's failure in tackling economic issues. The TNCC will also launch a membership drive across the state, he added.

Referring to the common public examinations for class five and eight students, he said it will spoil the future of the students. Instead of harping on such impractical schemes, Central and State governments should attempt to introduce job-oriented and students uplifting education system.

To a question, he said the Congress-DMK alliance will continue in the local bodies' elections also.
the former TNCC president also strongly condemned the Union Home Minister Amith Shah's one- nation, one-language remark and said it would be a wrong approach. He alleged that the Modi-led government, under pressure from the RSS, was thrusting anti-people schemes on the people. In Kashmir, there is a mini-emergency prevailing at present and streets wear a deserted look, he said. 'Press censorship' was also there which prevented reportage of the ground situation in the Kashmir valley, he added.

Earlier, former DMK minister and Tiruchy district strongman, K.N Nehru lit a traditional lamp to inaugurate the MP's office of Su.Thirunavukkarasar.
