Registrar of Companies files case against Madras Flying Club
Chennai: The Madras Flying Club, which has been hogging the attention for wrong reasons, is facing trouble from the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA). The office of the Registrar of Companies, Tamil Nadu, under the MCA, has filed prosecution under section 206 (7) of the Companies Act, 2013, against the MFC and its officers for default.
The case has been filed before the Economic Offences Court, Egmore, here, following a complaint preferred before the office of the Registrar of Companies by R. Rajkumar, secretary of the MFC Limited.
As IOSA auditor, ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor Rajkumar, who allegedly unearthed gross irregularities, found that the club has not filed the statutory returns.
The Madras Flying Club Limited has been incorporated on March, 4, 1930, and is classified as Guarantee and Association company and is registered at Registrar of Companies, Chennai. “The MFC has become dormant and seven of its directors have been disqualified by the Registrar of Companies on Nov. 1, 2016, due to non filing of balance sheets and fraudulent activities,” alleges Rajkumar.
In April this year, Mr Rajkumar sought the intervention of the Registrar of Companies to initiate prosecution against the board of directors after furnishing “evidences.”
Following this, the Registrar of Companies, sought an explanation from the MFC directors and when it could not obtain reply, the RoC filed a prosecution against the company and its directors for non-filing of returns. The same was communicated to Rajkumar.
