Hyderabad: Residents of Malani Enclave, Padmanabha Colony, Surya Enclave and Sai Nagar Colony, near Trimulgherry lake, have took up the onus of ensuring stoppage of sewer flow into the water body.
On Saturday, representatives of colonies met Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy and informed their woes. They requested him to take steps to restore Trimulgherry Lake and also to ensure to build a ring sewer to connect the sewer lines that are polluting the lake at present.
In response, the MP addressed separate letters to Collector Yogita Rana and SCB CEO S.V.R. Chandrashekar and urged them to take remedial measures, so that locals residing near the Trimulgherry Lake are free from pollution and health risks.
Mr Reddy requested the collector to consider restoration of Trimulgherry Lake under mission Kakatiya programme.
