Act on SI suicide: Hyderabad High Court
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday sought to know from the Medak district police why the Siddipet deputy superintendent of police, circle inspectors and others were not arrayed as accused in the suicide of sub-inspector V. Ramakrishna Reddy.
Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao was dealing with a petition by V. Dhana Lakshmi, wife of the SI, seeking to direct the authorities to conduct a CBI probe into the death of her husband.
The petitioner brought to notice of the court that her husband in his suicide note, had clearly named police personnel, including Sridhar Goud, Ramanjaneyulu, Venkataiah, A. Muthyam, Yadav Reddy, Raju, Nagi Reddy and Ghulam Samdani and held them responsible for his death.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted the authorities were conducting an investigation contrary to the facts given in the FIR and the suicide note, without incorporating appropriate penal provisions and without arraying the cops named by the SI as accused in the case.
