KANNUR: UDF is all set to move a No Confidence Motion on Saturday against mayor E.P. Latha of CPM in Kannur Corporation. The corporation has equal number of strength (27 members each) for UDF and LDF. LDF is holding power in the Corporation with the support of Congress dissident P K Ragesh, who is the deputy mayor at present. However, at present Mr Ragesh took a U-turn supporting the UDF move.
UDF was confident about its victory in Kannur Corporation earlier but the stance of Ragesh in favour of LDF hit the UDF dreams. Many political upheavals witnessed in the corporation in the year have been resulted in the no confidence motion which is in the anvil.
P.K. Ragesh who had a conflict with K .Sudhakaran, had contested in the corporation election by forming an independent front. Ragesh’s single seat has become the determining factor in the corporation.
