Hyderabad: Woman teacher killed in mishap
Hyderabad: A 39-year-old woman working in a government school was mowed down by a truck at Meerpet on Friday morning. She was on her way to the school when the accident took place. Police took the driver into custody and registered a case.
According to Meerpet police, Ramavat Lalitha Kumari, 39, a resident of Badangpet, was riding on a scooter to Dhoolpet where she worked as a teacher in the government high school. At about 8.45 am when she reached the road near the Toddy outlet in Badangpet, a speeding truck rammed into the scooter. Lalitha Kumari fell down, suffered head injuries and died on the spot, said police.
Meerpet sub-inspector P. Anantha Ramulu said, “When we inspected the accident spot, we found a helmet beside the scooter. It is suspected that Lalitha did not latch the headgear and it fell down. She received grievous head injuries and died.” A case has been registered against truck driver Narsimha.
