Hyderabad: Job seekers duped by fraudsters

Hyderabad: Two youngsters from the city were duped by cyber fraudsters who collected money from them by promised jobs an multinational corporation in the city. The fraudsters sent fake appointment letters and collected Rs 3 lakh from the duo.

According to the Rachakonda cyber crime police, the victims had recently completed their BTech and a course in automated testing. While searching online for jobs, they came across a person who promised to help them get a job in a multinational corporation in the city and took their resumes.

A few days later, they were told to pay Rs 1.5 lakh each after receiving the appointment letter. They agreed, and transferred the money online to the account numbers indicated by the fraudsters when they received the letters.

When they graduates went to the MNC to report for duty, they were informed that the letters were fake. The victims then lodged a complaint at the cyber crime police station. A case has been registered into the complaint and investigation has been taken up, said the police.
