Hyderabad: 4 metro stations to host food festival on August 30
Hyderabad: Culture Language Indian Connections (CLIC), in association with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, L&T Metro and Telangana Tourism and the government's department of language and culture, will hold an international snacks festival at four Metro Rail stations from August 30 to September 1.
The festival will be hosted at the Uppal, MGBS, Hitec City and Ameerpet stations.
Participants from Ethiopia, Argentina, Spain, Sudan, Switzerland, South Korea and China are ex-pected to serve their local cuisine at the festival.
CLIC secretary Burra Venkatesham, said it was the first such festival in the country, and was modelled on the lines of the International Sweet Festival that is organised by CLIC during Sankranti every year. He said the festival was about women empowerment. It will also provide a platform to encourage home-makers to display and sell home-made food products.
HMRL MD N.V.S. Reddy explained how Metro Rail stations can become epicentres of promoting culture and heritage.
