Chennai: Vintage beauties are ready to thrill Chennai motoring enthusiasts.
Some stately models of old cars, which have great individuality as opposed to today's assembly line clones, will be seen at their vintage best on Sunday morning at the Ramachandra Convention Centre in Thiruvanmiyur.
The heritage collection gathered together by the Madras Heritage Motoring Club will be on view from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The pride of place will be for a fully-restored 1914 Mercedes. Owned by the Pandian Hotel family right through the 105 years, the black beauty has been lovingly restored.Another classic car on view will be the same Pandian Hotel family's Rolls Royce 2025 of 1934 vintage. The pride of being the oldest car in this assembly of greats will be a 1904 Wolsley from Bengaluru. There will be vintage motor-cycles on view as well.
Actress Revathi will inaugurate the display. The exhibition, which is part of the Madras Week celebrations is being held in association with the Chennai chapter of Intach.
