Hyderabad High Court asks TTD to reply on live telecast

The bench directed the counsel for the petitioners to file the counter affidavit on the objections of the TTD.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the Tirumala Tiru-pathi Devasthanams to spell out its stand on a petition seeking to order an CBI probe into the income and expenditure of the TTD, the untraceable idol of Lord Venkat-eswara and also seeking live telecast of the Maha Samprokshanam fete at Tirumala.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radha-krishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with the PIL by B Anil Kumar of Guntur and Bhupen-der K Goswami from Gujarat. The bench expressed its displeasure at one of the petitioner B. Anil Kumar filing a memo instead an affidavit on allegations and objections raised by the TTD against him.

The TTD on August 13 informed the court that Anil Kumar was associated with religious programmes of the Christian community and he filed the petition against the Hindu religious practices and his petition was not maintainable.

The bench directed the counsel for the petitioners to file the counter affidavit on the objections of the TTD. The bench directed counsel for the petitioners to file the counter-affidavit on the objections of the TTD.

He urged the court to grant time to file the affidavit on the objections raised by the TTD.
