Hyderabad: A woman approached the Falaknuma police on Wednesday with allegations that her relatives had sold her daughter to an Omani national for Rs 5 lakh.
Ms Sayeeda Unnisa in her complaint said that Ahmed, an Omani national, had come to the city three months ago. During his visit, her relative Sikander and his wife Ghousia Begum had arranged to have her 16-year-old daughter married to him, without her knowledge.
“My daughter was sent abroad without my knowledge. She got in touch with me over the phone. The Omani national is harassing and torturing my daughter and claiming that he has paid '5 lakh to Ghousia for fixing the marriage,” Ms Sayeeda told the police.
