TIRUVARUR: The district police arrested three-under trail prisoners now out on bail for another offence of showing a sickle while posing before the Thalaaiyaamangalam police station in Tiruvarur district and posting the same in "TikTok" social media network, on Monday.
Police said the arrested Ayyappan (18), Rajavel (20), and Pradeep (21) of Thalaiyamangalam were detained already under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and they were now on conditional bail.
When they went to the Thaalaiyaamangalam police station to sign on Monday as part of fulfilling the court's condition, a police officer handed over a to them and asked them to clear the bushes in and around the station.
While doing so, the accused showed up the sickle and knives standing in front of the police station, video-graphed the same and released it through "TikTok" social media network, which went viral.
On coming to know of this, a police party arrested all the three and remanded them to judicial custody, police added. This act of defiance by the youth has taken people by shock.
Already the Chinese app TikTok has come in for huge criticism for corrupting the youth and leaders of various political parties have called for banning the app in India.
