Telangana has received 33 per cent surplus rainfall

The districts that have received less rainfall are Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Sangareddy and Vikarabad.

Hyderabad: With the monsoon active in the first half of July, Telangana state has received 33 per cent surplus rainfall. The districts of Adilabad, Khammam, Kumaram Bheem, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, and Suryapet have reported 50 per cent excess rainfall. The districts that have received less rainfall are Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Sangareddy and Vikarabad.

The southwest monsoon has been normal over Telangana state in the last 24 hours with most of the rainfall recorded in Bhadrachalam Kothagudem, Bhupalpally, Kumaram Bheem, Jagtial, and Nirmal. In fact, the northern districts received moderate to heavy showers. At present, the well-marked low-pressure area over Odisha and adjoining areas is moving inland. This will bring moderate to heavy showers to the northern districts for the next 24 to 48 hours. Light rainfall activity will occur over the southern districts.

The day temperatures are touching the high 20s; they are expected to drop further and make weather conditions pleasant. The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for July 17 and 18. Forecast for the state is: Heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of TS. The city will witness generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
