K Chandrashekhar Rao hands out crucial jobs to top government officials, cops

The responsibility to identify and prepare a list of the corrupt officials has been assigned to ACB DG Purnachandra Rao.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday assigned special tasks to every senior official to tackle drug menace, food adulteration, spurious seeds and organised crimes.

Mr Rao held a meeting with police and excise officials at Pragathi Bhavan and asked officials to give special incentives to the police personnel who have done good work in controlling drugs.

“Explain the government’s aim to junior personnel till the rank of sub0inspector. Encourage those who are doing a good job and I will personally present the awards to them during the Independence Day celebrations,” Mr Rao said

CMO officials Narsing Rao and Shanti Kumari have been asked to monitor the scheme to extend financial assistance to those shifting from illicit liquor making.

DGP Anurag Sharma has been given the task of implementation of strategies to counter spurious seed supply, surprise raids on those making the illicit seeds.

Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy has been asked to recommend amendments to laws to control drugs, spurious seeds and other organised crimes.

Intelligence chief Naveen Chand will take the responsibility of forming a wing on the lines of counter intelligence to control organised crimes.

Excise commissioner R, Chandravadan and excise & enforcement director Akun Sabharwal will take the responsibility of in-depth investigation of the drugs cases and see that the guilty are punished.

Hyderabad and Warangal IGs Stephen Ravindra and Nagireddy will oversee the strategy to stop the drug menace spreading to other cities and towns.

Chief secretary S.P. Singh with the help of district collectors should find out the places where the spurious seeds are being made and initiate action against them.

The responsibility to monitor construction of new police offices, police stations, and employee quarters is given to Police Housing Corporation chairman S. Damodar Gupta and managing director Malla Reddy.

Government’s chief adviser Rajiv Sharma will take care of strengthening the excise department and the stringent action to be taken against the drugs, illicit liquor and cannabis cases.

Agriculture commissioner Jaganmohan will take the responsibility of getting the results of spurious seeds sent to laboratories for testing faster.

GHMC commissioner Janardhan Reddy will take the responsibility of appointing food inspectors in Hyderabad to test the food items and help book cases against the guilty.

Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy and excise minister Padma Rao will oversee providing alternative employment to the illicit liquor makers from Dhoolpet and action to be taken to eradicate the menace.
