Urgent need to protect image of city: K Chandrasekhar Rao

There is supply and use of drugs in Hyderabad for the past several years now due to the indifferent attitude of the previous governments.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said the government would give full powers and total freedom to officials investigating the drug racket case and book cases against those involved, however influential they may be.

He also wanted the officials who worked towards eradicating illicit liquor and gambling, should work with the same spirit to eradicate drugs and adulteration from the state.

He also praised the police and excise department for their excellent job in controlling drugs and adulteration. Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Padma Rao, government’s chief advisor Rajiv Sharma, DGP Anurag Sharma, excise commissioner Chandravadan, ACB DG Sri Purnachandra Rao, Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda police commissioners Mahender Reddy, Sandeep Sandalya, Mahesh Bhagwat, Intelligence IG Navin Chand, Excise & Enforcement director Akun Sabharwal, etc were present.

“There is supply and use of drugs in Hyderabad for the past several years now due to the indifferent attitude of the previous governments. Had they taken the stringent actions, situation would have been different now. There is an urgent need to protect Hyderabad’s brand image,” he said.
