Hyderabad based man stranded in Dubai

Qureshi lured Mahboob with a job offering 1,500 dirhams per month salary.

Hyderabad: A Hyderabad based migrant worker is stranded in Dubai, after being denied payment by his kafil. Sheikh Mahboob Hussain, in an SOS, stated that an agent, Adil Qureshi, identified as the leader of a political party sent him on a one month visit visa under the guise of a job visa.

Qureshi lured Mahboob with a job offering 1,500 dirhams per month salary.

“I sold off my mother’s gold jewellery and borrowed money and paid him Rs 91000 for visa and charges.” Mahboob said.

In Dubai, he found that he was sent on a one month visit visa but he started working also. He was paid for a month, but later it stopped. When he demanded his salary, the kafil refused and sent him out. The man became jobless and an illegal resident.

“The, local government challaned me for 8,230 dirhams. Unless I pay this amount, I cannot move out, but I am struggling here for food and how can I pay such a hefty amount,” he said in an SOS video, sent to MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan over whatsapp. Mr Amjed Ullah Khan forwarded the details to the External Affairs Ministry.
