Hyderabad: The HMDA has shocked the GHMC by slapping a Rs 2.8-crore bill as layout charges for the construction of double bedroom houses for the poor.
The government has sanctioned 4,428 2BHK houses at Ahmedguda of Keesara mandal in Ranga Reddy district, which comes under the HMDA lmits, and the GHMC took up their construction.

Informing the government of this, GHMC commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy requested that it consider giving the civic body an exemption for the flagship programme of the government.
The municipal administration department has said that it will take a decision on this issue after discussing with the government....
