Hyderabad: Six-year-old girl dies after mauling by dog
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during a dog attack. Singarapu Shravani, a Class 1 student, was on her way to school at Rudrangi, Chendurthi mandal, when she was attacked, on June 22. Shravani suffered serious injuries to the head during the mauling. She was first taken to a hospital in Karimnagar and was later brought to Hyderabad. But her condition kept deteriorating.
Shravani is the youngest daughter of Vijaya and Gangaram, a mason. A pall of gloom descended on their village with many turning up at the grieving parents’ home to console them. Meanwhile in Hyderabad city, a stray dog attacked a four-year-old girl at Dammaiguda. Nakshatra suffered deep gashes on her face and is currently in critical care. This is the second dog attack in the city within a week. On July 12, a dog suffering from rabies bit four children at Marikal village in Ranga Reddy district.
