Chennai: Fire at sessions court destroys docos, comps
Chennai: Vital court documents, computer, chairs and other materials were destroyed in a fire incident at a sessions court in Kancheepuram on Saturday. The fire broke out following short circuit in District Sessions Court-II, near taluk office in Kancheepuram.
According to police sources, the fire broke out in the court hall on Saturday evening. Immediately after noticing smoke coming out from the hall, the cops alerted Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Service and Vishnu Kanchee police personnel. Immediately, they have rushed to the place.
The personnel battled with the flames and doused the fire after 30 minutes. Meanwhile, chairs, tables, computers and other court documents were destroyed in the incident. The personnel have also prevented spread of fire into neighboring court halls.
The cops suspected the court staff may have left the court hall on Friday without switching off the computers. Sparks erupted from the electrical appliances may have caused the fire mishap, the said.
