Miyapur land scam: TRS MLA Redya Naik rules out PCC claims

Referring to an incident during 2014 election campaign where currency notes worth Rs 3 crore were burnt in Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy's car.

Hyderabad: Former minister and TRS MLA D.S. Redya Naik on Friday denied PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy’s allegations against him that he was allotted four acres of land in Hafeezpet near Miyapur in the city as incentive for defecting from the Congress to the TRS.

Speaking to newsmen in TRS Legislature Party Office here, Mr Naik said that he had bought five acres of land in Hajeezpet in 2006 in the name of his children and had sold the entire land in 2008 to private parties. He averred that both these transactions were made when he was in the Congress.

Refuting the PCC chief, he said that these accusations were being made against him because he had quit the Congress and joined the TRS two years ago.

Referring to an incident during 2014 election campaign where currency notes worth Rs 3 crore were burnt in Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy’s car near Kodada in Nalgonda district, Mr Redya Naik asked the TPCC president to explain to the public the source of the money.

He claimed the Congress had no chance of being elected to power again.
