Governor K Rosaiah sets ball rolling in new Assembly era
CHENNAI: Governor K. Rosaiah address on Thursday sailed through without interruptions, walkouts and boycotts for the first time in recent memory in the Assembly. In the course of his speech, the Governor promised a new granite policy for sale of beach minerals directly by the State government, besides the revival of Nokia and Foxconn plants.
The members, both from the ruling and opposition parties, listened with rapt attention to the inaugural address of the Governor for the 15th Assembly, with only the occasional thumping of desks by ruling party members on the mention of the Chief Minister’s achievements punctuating the speech.
The Governor said “The government is committed to its goal of making Tamil Nadu the most attractive investment destination in the country. The Government will host a Global Investors’ Meet once in every two years in future.
