CM to initiate Poornahuti to conclude Raja Syamala Yagam

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would participate in the Poornahuti on Wednesday to conclude the Ashtottara Satha Kundatmanya (108) Sri Lakshmi Mahayaga with Chandi, Rudra, Rajashyamala and Sudarshana rituals aimed at the comprehensive development of the state.

Deputy chief minister in charge of endowments, Kottu Satyanarayana, said that the poojas and rituals continued for the fifth day on Tuesday with “great success.”

He said this type of a Yaga with chanting of the Vedic mantras in the Chaturagama hall, chanting of the Chaturveda, continuous homams, archanas, kumkumarchans, different abhishekas and special pujas had never been done anywhere else.

Rutviks, Ghanapatis and Vedic scholars are performing the ritual magnificently with all their energy to make the Yaga complete, he said.

He said the venue, the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, will be illuminated with spiritual splendor by virtue of this Maha Krutuvu.

Satyanarayana said the Maha Yajna started with Jagan Reddy's Sankalp Shuddhi and the Mega Penance would end with the Maha Purnahuti, as has been decided by scholars. The chief minister will reach the Yaga Mandapam at 8.55am, followed by special poojas at the Pancharatra Yagashala at 9.10am and Vedic Smartha Yagashala at 9.20am. Before 9.50am, the Pooja programme related to Purnahuti will be performed in Vaikhanasa Yagashala, where the Amma Rajashyamala is installed.

After that, at 10.10am, the chief minister would come to the Saiva Agama Hall and perform a special puja with the rutviks, ghanapatis and scholars in the midst of chanting the Vedic mantras with black lilies that are very dear to Lord Shiva.

The minister said that at 10.20am, a special abhishekam would be performed for the goddess by the CM. The goddess is present in the form of a golden statue specially brought from Kanchi for this purpose.

As part of the rituals, the rutviks will give Yaga Prasadam to the chief minister. At the same time, the couple who initiated the Yaga will present new silk clothes to the chief minister. The CM will honour Vedic scholars and priests.
