SDPI candidate alleges EVM misuse in NR constituency

Workers of SDPI even staged a protest in this regard in front of the DC office here on Wednesday.

Mysuru: The SDPI candidate, Abdul Majeed who secured third place in Narasimha Raja constituency in Mysuru, has alleged misuse of EVMs and has submitted a memorandum to the election officer of the constituency for a recount of VVpats in the constituency.

Workers of SDPI even staged a protest in this regard in front of the DC office here on Wednesday.

Mr Majeed claimed that they secured zero votes in polling station 5 in NR constituency though they had confirmation that several votes were polled in the polling station. Hence, there has to be recounting of VVpats, they has urged.

Congress candidate Tanveer Sait secured 62,268 votes and won in NR constituency defeating JD(S) candidate S Satheesh who secured 44,141 votes. Mr Abdul Majeed secured 33,284 votes.
