Manair riverfront must be No 1: K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that he want the proposed Manair Riverfront in Karimnagar to be one of the best in the country, so much so that visitors to the city make it a point to visit the spot.
Mr Rao suggested the riverfront project design be made after an in-depth study of the Sabaramati riverfront, considered to be the first in the country.
He was speaking after watching a presentation on the proposed project by representatives of the Tata Group.
The CM wanted them to examine the possibility of the facilities at Sabarmati riverfront to be replicated at Manair.
He also wanted the proposed riverfront to mirror ancient Telangana history.
“In Karimnagar tourist spots that are not available in Hyderabad should be developed so that even Hyderabadis should feel like visiting Karimnagar,” Mr Rao said.
On this occasion, the CM made several suggestions for the comprehensive development of Karimnagar.
He wanted the local legislators to devise plans to develop Karimnagar as a beautiful city. Mr Rao suggested growing trees like peepul, neem, and silver oak in the open places and government lands and also a walkway around the Satavahana University like the one at KBR Park in Hyderabad
To discuss the matter on development of Karimnagar threadbare, the CM has convened a meeting with the legislators and officials on Wednesday.
