TRS is fearing defeat in local polls: K Laxman to undermine the efforts of the EC

Hyderabad: Telangangana state BJP unit president K. Laxman on Tuesday alleged that the TRS government was conducting the elections to zilla and mandal parishads with ulterior interests.

He said the TRS government reduced the reservations for BCs in zilla and mandal parishads from 34 per cent to 23 per cent and only 5 per cent of he zilla parishads were reserved for the BCs.

Mr Laxman said after its defeat in the graduates and teachers constituencies in the Legislative Council elections, the TRS was fearing direct elections to the zilla and mandal parishads. He said the BJP would decide on Wednesday about contesting in the zilla and mandal parishad polls.
