Collegium pushes for two new judges for Andhra Pradesh high court

The collegium has forwarded its proposal to the Union ministry for the approval of President Ram Nath Kovind.

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court Collegium led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has resolved to recommend that two judicial officers — district judge Ch. Manavendranath Roy working as Registrar General of the AP High Court and Mr M. Venkata Ramana — be appointed as judges of the AP High Court under the service quota.

The collegium has forwarded its proposal to the Union ministry for the approval of President Ram Nath Kovind.

The then Chief Justice of the erstwhile common High Court had on September 27, 2018 recommended the proposal for the appointment of four judicial officers.
