Bengaluru: I-T targets BJP leader’s house

The team received information that Venugopal was collecting Electoral Photo ID card (EPIC) and in exchange for money.

Bengaluru: In a joint operation, Election Commission officials and city police raided the house of Venugopal, a BJP leader from Padmanabhanagar, and seized 82 voters' ID cards and Rs 1.39 lakh in cash.

The team received information that Venugopal was collecting Electoral Photo ID card (EPIC) and in exchange for money.

The team raided his house at Papaiah Gardens on Monday night. During the raid, the team also seized 500 pamphlets containing Tejasvi Surya's photograph.

Venugopal allegedly got his men to collect voter ID cards voters in Bangalore South constituency in exchange for money and promised to return them back on the day of polling.

The officials have filed a complaint with C.K. Achukattu police station and further investigations are in progress.
