KPCC president M M Hassan's Janamochana Yatra to restart today
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second stage of KPCC president M.M. Hassan's Janamochana Yatra will kick off on Tuesday from Thrissur. Pondicherry Chief Minister V. Narayanaswami will be the chief guest at the public function ahead of the restart of the Yatra at Thekkinkad maidan. After completing the rally in Ernakulam district on Wednesday, Mr Hassan will head to Idukki. Then, he will take out rallies in Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kollam.
Mr Hassan will reach Thiruvananthapuram district on April 25 where the rally will culminate at Gandhipark grounds. Since the top brass of the AICC leadership are camping in Karnataka to campaign for the Assembly elections there, Mr Hassan and his team at KPCC are trying to bring Congress president Rahul Gandhi for the concluding session of the Janamochana Yatra.
KPCC general secretary Sajeev Joseph informed that Mr Hassan's digital protest call, 'Amma Manassu' will continue till May 3. "Youth Congress and Mahila Congress workers will initiate house-to-house visits from April 22 to April 29. In each booth, a team comprising of 150 women will take part in the digital protest against violence in the state", said Mr Hassan. Party sources claimed that many women who have lost their family members to political violence from across the state are attending the digital protest.
Without revealing the amount collected, KPCC general secretary Thampanoor Ravi said that the fund drive has been a huge success. He claimed that the Janamochana Yatra was a success in Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Palakkad. The yatra was inaugurated by Congress Working Committee member A.K. Antony in Kasaragod on April 7.
