VIJAYAWADA: SSC examinations started on Thursday and the first examination was Telugu. The ruling party asked questions about the party related to the new capital Amaravati. And in the second paper, Sanskrit, on the second day also the same thing repeated. On the third day, the question paper was in Telugu for two-and-a-half marks and in the first language Paper-2, Sanskrit the first question carried three marks carried questions relating to the state governments developmental works.

In Telugu, officials asked the same question with the word Chief Minister, whereas in Sanskrit the question directly named the Chief Minister. The opposition parties have started cornering the government that they are using the education system as a medium of canvassing. Andhra Pradesh officials asked a question on Chief Minister’s efforts about the new capital Amaravati in SSC question paper.

The heights of the campaign have become viral on social media. Social media feels that these things should not happen as the students are being used for campaigning and they also feel that this is a misuse of power. A. Kalyan Ram a private school principal said, “It’s not healthy to incorporate the development issues directly in the question papers as the elections are nearby. If it ended with the first paper, nobody will bother. But it repeated in the Sanskrit paper too.”
UTF leaders alleged that this is the second time the government is incorporating their activities and colluding the students’ mindset, said P. Babu Reddy, general secretary, United teachers federation. “It shows that some of the officials are misusing their powers and trying to satisfy the CM,” added P. Babu Reddy. “They can ask the questions on expired personalities and National, international eminent leaders or scientists. But there is no such process to ask questions on government developments,” alleged Mr Reddy.

“It has become a habit of the government to corrupt the mindset of minors. Last time, the students were asked in form of Questions of Chief Ministers family companies along with his family members’ details “alleged Dodda Anji Reddy, President, YSR Student Union, Krishna District. “We will protest against the politics in the school education system “he added. “There is nothing wrong in asking such questions. It's a part of the lesson in the text book and the question on sanitary latrines is to test the general awareness of the students and the creative writing skills,” said K. Sandhya Rani, commissioner of school education.
