Pawan Kalyan's graft remarks refuted by government employees

Government employees say only a few corrupted.

TIRUPATI: Government employees refuted the statements of Pawan Kalyan alleging that corruption level was high in the state. “Some political leaders say that corruption in Andhra Pradesh is high. There might be one or two corrupt officers. It should not reflect all other honest employees,” said AP JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu.

Speaking to media persons at the DRDA meeting hall in Tirupati on Friday, Mr Bopparaju said that, after bifurcation of the state, employees came to AP without proper infrastructure, staff and training. He said the intention of the employees has been to provide service to people of Andhra Pradesh. “We are working hard for the state. We are ready to challenge the corruption allegations. There is no corruption among employees though one or two might be involved in corruption, which does not mean all employees do the same. The statement of one political leader created mental stress in the employees, by saying AP is leading the country in corruption.”

Speaking on the special category status to the state, he added, "When political parties fail during the movement for united state, all employees came on to the roads. But, that political situation is not being witnessed now. All the political parties are leading the protests. As we also have the social responsibility, we will soon be organising a round table meeting with all the employees' unions, lawyers, students, farmers and others too. Later the APJAC will announce an action plan of the employees to pursue the goals set up for action.”
