P V Anwar's water theme park gets government approval
KOZHIKODE: After a year-long battle, PV Anwar MLA got approval from all the Government departments which had initiated an inquiry into his Kakkadampoyil water theme park project. In the District Collector’s report published on Friday, it was mentioned that the Forest, Disaster Management and Revenue Department approved that the project had not violated any of the norms prescribed by the respective departments.
However, the report stated that the building plan and the fire and safety licence, had not been renewed. According to the report, the disaster management authority has stated that the project did not stand in a hazardous spot, and hence could move ahead.
The forest department also stated that the project could be approved as it was not built on forest land. The revenue department also pointed out that the land used for the water theme park was neither government-owned nor encroached land. But the District Collector has directed Thamarassery Thahasildar to inspect the properties under Anwar and his family, to check if they have violated the land reformation act.
